History

Natura Viva Resort was founded in 2015 when the Ortega family acquired an old farm on the outskirts of Villa de Leyva. At the time, the land was abandoned, but surrounded by vibrant nature and beautiful landscapes. The family, a lover of the environment and sustainable tourism, decided to turn the place into a space to rest, learn, and reconnect with the land.

At first, they built just two wooden cabins and a small organic garden. They welcomed their first visitors, who arrived through word-of-mouth recommendations. Over time, they added more green areas, an artificial lake, trails, an organic restaurant, and spaces for outdoor activities.
